Eyelid Difference

Hello.
One of my top eyelids sits lower than the other eyelid, it does not impair my vision, I have had eye exams and though I need glasses the eyelid itself does not do anything to create this or make it worse, it just sits about a centimetre or two lower then the other eyelid.
What is this called? And is there some sort of surgery to make both eyelids look even again? Thanks

This is called eyelid ptosis (pronounced without the p.)  It can be something you are born with, something caused by degeneration and stretching of the eyelid tendon, trauma, certain neurologic disorders.  It can usually be repaired with surgery.  Look for an oculoplastic surgeon (an ophthalmologist that performs eyelid surgery.)

Thank you so much for your response. This was very helpful, it was something I was born with but I've always been insecure about it. Thanks.
