Out out of three do get better. At 9-12 months about 20-30% still find them troublesome.

Is it true that in 3-6 months my brain will learn to not see the edge of the lens and the glare will get better?
Then get a third opinion. Very few people see the edge of their IOL unless it is out of position which is unusual. However flarring, rays, ghost images dark and light areas and cellophane vision (with ReZoom IOL) are very common. The term for this is IOL dysphotopsia. Often get better with time and sometimes can be helped at least at night with Alphagan-P

Also, I would like to know what percentage of people who have cataract surgery see part of their new lens?
I did get a second opinion and that doctor told me that I needed laser surgery for an opacification (wrinkle) in the capsule. He said that maybe that would take care of some of the visual symptoms I was having. It did not. I feel that now I have made the situation worse as I have read that replacing a lens after laser surgery is so difficult and there are a lot of risks. Now I don't know what to do . I don't want to go back to the doctor who did the cataract surgery and now I'm having doubts about the doctor to did the laser surgery. What a mess!
You should consider a second opinion with another skilled ophthalmologist to take a fresh look at your problem. Find one at www.aao.org
