Low sight & Colours
In the year 2005 for my mother Retina was detached to 80% , during operation Silicon Oil was inserted, after the operation sight was very low, and it was also from the pin hole. At present for last 6months she is not able to see properly ( Low sight also ) as colours like blue, red are coming in vision. As per doctors assessment the only solution is to remove the oil, bu the risk is of total blind-ness, Today's level of vision is 10% which also may get lost.
Her other eye was not having any vision, this eye was having lots of water during the year 1980, treatment was on but after few days vision is lost.
Her today's age is 71 she is not having any other medical issues.

I would get a second opinion from another retina eye specialist ophthalmologist. Then based on what in the USA is called "informed consent" you and your mother will need to decide what you want to do. She has a very severe problem and recovery of normal vision is generally very unlikely. None of the courses of action are ideal and several are fraught with signficant risks.
Concentrate on keeping the vision in the "good" eye.

Her left eyw don't have the vision from 1980, it was watery and then some readness was there and treatment was on but the vision is lost, then the right eye was working okay, so we didn't do any further investigation on left eye.
In the left eye there is no vision.
In right eye in 2005 there was retina detachment was there and silicon oil was inserted, then for few day she was seeing the dots then now for last six months colours problem is there.
Doctors advise is to remove the silicon oil but the chance of loosing is vision is there.
As with colours she is having a 5% vision , so we are not able to decid on the same.
Any check up will help to decide on removing the silicon oil, Also for left eye any checkup will able to quide us. ??
