Magnified Mirror - Eye Damage

I took my wifes magnified mirror into our bedroom to have a look at my eyes and apply some drops, however, I didn't notice that the sun was low in the sky and shining through our window directly onto the mirror.

I'm pretty sure there would have been a beam of light focused on my eyes when I was apply the drops. I've now got a dark spot on both eyes but felt no pain or excessive brightness at the time.

I feel pretty damn stupid but should have thought of this before, can anyone advise.

You need to see a retina specialist to see if you have solar retinopathy (chances from what you describe are slim but given you see blind spots it is likely worth you getting checked out).  Given you have the symptoms you have, you should be seeing an ophthalmologist (eye MD) and not an optometrist and better yet a retina specialist.

I think that you should visit an optometrist in a day if you can. If your optometrist does not have an opening in 24-48 hours, I think that you should go to a walk-in clinic to have this checked out by a doctor to see if you require immediate medical attention.
