Chalazion please help!

I've had a chalazion for about 4 months  it was small and painless to begin with and didn't bother me but over the last 2 weeks it's got a lot worse. I've been using hot compresses between 4 & 6 times a day which seems to have made it larger about the size of a pea and it's now come to head and is very sore and red.

I've read something's online that say when it comes to a head it's likely to drain itself but some have said it's come to a head and stayed that way for up to a year!

I'm not eligible for surgery as I don't meet the criteria to have it done under the nhs so would have to pay to have it done privately which I can't afford.

I am feeling really down and haven't left the house or seen anyone since it has got worse. My 30th birthday is coming up this weekend and I'm considering cancelling my party because I can't go out looking like this. I also have a 5 week old baby and I'm struggling because I feel so down.

Is there anything else I can try?

Thank you for you response. I went to my doctor this afternoon and he made a small cut in the head of the cyst and squeezed the puss out he said that he got it all but when I got home and looked in the mirror there was still a small white head which has again got bigger throughout today. If I keep on with the compresses will it reduce in fuze and drain?

Unless you can get a local doctor to drain it for you at a discounted rate, you may have to continue with the warm compresses.  It does frequently drain once it comes to a head so try and stick in there.  Hopefully it will drain in the next couple of days.
