Mono vision

I am still looking for an answer. Can anyone tell me what I should do?
My left eye with crystalense to see near and far didn't work. My surgen don't know what happened and why my eye is nearsighted now. My right eye have catract but not too bad yet, so I am using contact lense to see far. Yes my right eye is the dominant eye.
My right eye prescription for contact lens was SPG -0.50 CYL -1.25, AXIS 90, DIA 14.5 Base 8.7.   My glasses prescription is OD Sphere -1.00, CYL +0.75, AXIS 175, OS Sphere -2.00, CYL sph.    Can you tell me the power is too much different and I can not get used to monovision?  Or should give up trying to adjust to mono vision.

The difference in power between your eyes is not too extreme; you may be able to adapt with time.  The left eye is now a good reading eye.  If you truly feel that you cannot adapt to the nearsightedness in the left eye, an intraocular lens exchange can be done, but this can be a difficult surgery if the implant has been in the eye for a long time.

Thank you very much for your reply.  I will try to get used to it. Hope someday I will see better. I purchased a year worth of contact lense, so I will try.  Thank you again.

If I am reading this correctly, you right eye sphere is -.50 or  -1.00 and your left eye -2.00.   Which indicates that the diopter difference is only 1 to 1 1/2 apart.  Most people tolerate a diopter difference between eyes of up to 2 diopters...but it may take some getting use to.

After my recent cataract surgery on only one eye it left me Left eye -.50 and Right eye +1.00...a similar situation.   It has taken me a couple of months to gradually have my brain adjust to the difference, but now I can live with it.

Especially if I take my mind off of focusing on my eyes all the time, I hardly notice the struggle my brain is having merging the two images.

Try to relax and give it some time...that would be my advice, however I am no doctor.  Good luck !  Keep us posted on your progress and decision.
