Really Scared

I recently hurt my face. I tripped and banged the left side of my face on a chair. I have some usual symptoms such as, a black eye and swelling around the cheek bone and some what over the eye. My vision came back and my eye is still swollen and bruised. My problem is it’s hard for me to look down without feeling pain in my left eye and getting a double vision. It has been 3-4 days and I still have troubles looking downward. Every other direction is fine. Is this perhaps because my eye is still swollen or should I go see a doctor? and to top it all of i am very scared and need serious advice because i think i might have damaged my visions!!!! PLEASE HELP

Dear Jeffery65,

It is possible that you suffered a blow-out fracture of the orbit.  It is important for you to see an eyeMD to obtain a definitive diagnosis via CT scanning and treatment. He/she will be able to advise you what medical treatments and surgical repair might be needed.

I just read what you wrote and i did do some research on "blow-out fracture of the orbit" and the symptoms that i read about described what i am feeling. My only problem is, since its the holiday eyeMD's don't work until Monday. What can i do meanwhile i wait till Monday for an appointment to maybe help out my situation?
