YAG procedure - a few questions

I had a YAG procedure done on left eye 4 years after cataract surgery. Vision is much improved, but a second doctor said the YAG opened too big a hole. Is that even possible? If so, what visual problems could that cause?  Also, my second cataract surgery was done in early March 2009, and I'm already creating a secondary cataract.  Is that unusual - for it to happen so quickly?

Dear Dr. Feldman,
It has been 5 weeks since my surgeon iremoved a cataract and mplanted a crystalens in my right (dominant) eye, and I am having only mid-range clarity; he is suggesting to wait a month and then have YAG (for cloudy lens) and then lasik for cornea flattening and better far vision - If I understand him correctly - .  I'd prefer to only have the YAG since I think it is necessary, and make do with the sight it gives me.
My question is, how much better can I expect to see after YAG.  Currently I can see the E on the eye chart and the second 2 letters, but they are all very fuzzy.  And, is there an increased risk of glaucoma after YAG?
Thank you for  your answer.

Dear kmcc,

Secondary cataracts are common following cataract surgery.  Sometimes, they can develop early.  I would ask your eyeMD more questions about why he feels the opening is too large.  The size does not usually cause an issue.
