Most migraines including cerebral and retinal do not do damage. There is a risk of damage in smokers, women on birth control pills, high blood pressure, high cholesterol, certain blood disorders.

I had the same possibility expressed to me and was wondering the same thing. If in fact retinal migraines is what I have - i have not been down the neurology route was yet - then the effects are permanent in my case, which is rather a scary proposition.

the doctor told me they are like a stroke in your eye and starve your retina of oxygen and a bit of it dies each time you have one
