Rezoom & Pilocarpine
I have had Rezoom implants in both eyes, one 14 months ago and the other 6 months ago. I have had a lot of trouble adjusting to these lenses and I feel that I was given very little information before the surgery. I only found this website AFTER the surgery.
Everything has improved - the worst of my complaints have modified quite a bit. My biggest problem is just plain old eyestrain which hits me late afternoon. I have a slight bit of astigmatism left in one eye. (Dr corrected that as well during my surgery.) The halos and starbursts after the second eye, during night driving, made it impossible for me to drive at all after dark. It was horrible and shocking! This has improved.
I still have some ghosting during low light situations or in flourescent lighting. I play tennis at night and the lines on the court have a shadow which is very distracting.
Dr K, on this site, recommended I try Pilocarpine eye drops for my night problems. I spoke with my doctor about that and he gave me a prescription. He told me how to dilute them with Systane to about 65% Systane and 35% Pilocarpine. (somewhere between that and 50-50) I have tried that for the first yesterday and I believe it will help me quite a bit. thank you Dr. K. for that very helpful suggestion. My doctor believes this will continue to improve for up to a year or more.... I hope so!

Thank you. My doctor says I have 20/20 vision in both eyes - and I agree I do for distance. Flourescent lights drive me nuts! He also told me to get a really good reading light, not flourescent, and that helps as well. All in all, he has said from the beginning that you have to be patient. I hope he is right! I don't want to have them removed as that sounds scary, especially since I CAN see. I am 64 years old and maybe my brain is too old for this nonsense.....!

These implants are best for intermediate vision which is why, in the late PM you might notice some strain. This too will dissipate or you can be given a pair of readers for use during this time.
