Suitable IOL

Hello Experts,

I am 22 year old boy, I have congenital torsional nystagmus in both eyes which has been reduced during recent years. Also my retinas are very thin and vulnerable. My left eye' retina in earlier has been teared due to an impact and decolman surgery was not successful. This was sometimes both eyes had cataract and right eye's vision had came down. 2 weeks ago, underwent a cataract surgery on both eyes and a SA60AT IOL has been implanted in my right eye. The result was imprived far vision for TV, objects and walking but now texts on paper and monitors are completely unclear. I have got a grade 7 full compact eyeglass using which I can read bold fonts  with size of 14 (and not less than 14). I want to know if there is any other type or model of IOLs which can be more suitable for my case and can improve both far and near vision so I will not need eyeglass and also improve nighttime walking vision. Also is it possible to replace the IOL?

Many Thanks.

there are specialty lenses (multifocal or accomodative) lenses that make it easier to see far and near but are not guaranteed and come with some drawbacks.  You need to discuss all the options with your surgeon.  If you have other potential eye problems and retina is not fully healthy, you probably are better off with the kind of lens you got and wearing reading glasses seperately.  you could also consider wearing one contact for near and one for far to see if that works for you (monovision).  Search the previous posts on this site as this topic has been discussed multiple times in the past.
