Big problem Ghost Vision!

Hello... I was on this site a few months ago seeing that some people had slightly similar problems... But for starters...

Im 17 years old, male. I smoke alot a day... I am in front of the tv and computer screen ALOT!

About 4 or 5 months ago I got home from work... went to my computer desk and got on the computer... I was typing and all of a sudden i noticed that the letters on my keybored were doubled... Where the normal object is i see a double on the rightish side slightly above... I freaked... called my doctor etc etc... I desided not to go to hospitle... but to sleep as i had been up for around 17 hours... I slept and when i got up the vision was still bad... I got my dad to take me to the hospitle and on the way over i noticed that it was not just 1 image... The road signs were bright with a dark background and i saw a ghost image on both sides... below and above... Maybe around 5-7 objects... The doctor thought it was because i was not sleeping well but that was not the case...

So i went to a eye doctor... he looked in my eyes said everything was fine... tested my vision and i scored 100% (by the way i wear glasses). I asked him if he had ever heard of this and he said 'no never'

I then went to another neuolgist and he said he had also never heard of it... And now here i am waiting to see a professional eye doctor who only works in eye care... waiting... waiting... waiting... I have waited 3 and ahalf months for the apointment and i cant wait any longer... Im so stressed... I cant stop thinking about it.. I cant drive at night because i get distracted... Its extremely scary and i dont no what to do...

Im sitting here writing this and im crying... I dont even care if i look bad... Im scared out of my mind... my eyes are my life...

I dont know what to do and i need help so badly... I have read hundreds of posts saying that they have a similar problem and they have had it for years!!! I cant imagin waiting that long...

Dear Novaworks,

You do not mention whether this double goes away with your glasses? I would recommend that you seek the care of an eyeMD and obtain a diagnosis.

The first eye doctor (I dont know all the names for these doctors) was one of those people with the machines that can see into the eye... He said everything was fine... etc etc...

So i went for a nuclear injection CT scan. Apparently my brain is fine... So if my brain and eye balls are fine ARRGH what could it be...

I also went for oh what do you call those other scans... Your in a small space and there is a ton of noise that drives you nuts... I was in that machine for 20 min or so but apparently my brain showed up normal their to... I just cant think of the damn name of it...

Im not in extreme emotion problems... Like for example right now im calm but last night i was in a major panic... Its every couple of days or weeks that I get extremely annoyed and freak out about these eyes... Its aweful...

But i rather not see a doctor about my emotional issues and therapy is out of the question. Even if i go to my GP (which btw is a complete moron) he will sit their saying everythings fine... like last time -.-... I only got to see the other doctor because my mother had seen him before and she knew him. The eye doctor told me i should see a neurologist about my brain because my eyes were fine...

I have tested my blood and its around 5.0 so its normal... My mother has diabetes along with a kit to test the blood etc etc... SO im clear with that.

I try to handle my fear and people around me think wow just wait and relax... But really if you saw what i see... omg... During the day its not so bad... I can drive very well it does not bother me at all when i drive during the day... I still see slight ghosts but not much of one due to the background being so light. But at night i get to distracted so i dont like driving at night.

Anyway thank you for helping me within only a few hours of me posting it.

You have experienced sudden and persistent ghosting, so it's hard to believe that neither your eye doctor nor the neurologist saw anything amiss OR gave you a possible explanation.  Did you get an explanation of any kind for what you are seeing?

In any case, you are clearly in serious emotional distress, unable to sleep, crying, and distracted.  These are medical conditions, and I would suggest that you make an appointment on Monday with a different kind of doctor, your regular GP if you like him or her, or a psychiatrist, to help you with your anxiety.  A counselor could also give you talk therapy, but the other two docs can prescribe calming medication which can provide quick help when you're terribly anxious.  If you can get a bit of a handle on your fear, you will be able to think more clearly when you see the next eye specialist.

I see the ghosting in both eyes with or without my glasses... If i dont have my glasses it kinda makes the images worse... Its hard to explain...

If i squint the images sometimes go away but not really... If i open my eyes really wide it helps to a degree but if im driving at night and looking at a bright sign and open my eyes really wide it doesnt do much of anything... I can control the distance from the real object to the ghost my squezzing my eyes with my musels if that makes sence...

I have also noticed that if i look at any object lighter than the background and have my eyes lids at their normal position i get this streak of light that goes about half way through my line of vision... If i open my eyes wider this goes away completely... If i close my eyes a bit it kinda goes away but not completely... I was wondering if thats my eyelashes... But i cant be sure...

Right now im in a panic so i may be missing some vital information... So if you need anymore information please let me know im begging here... I have never been so worried in my life... I cant sleep very well... Im depressed... its aweful... So please somebody help me!! im scared to go to this apointment with this eye doctor just so he can tell me he has never heard of it and just send me on to the next doctor so i can wait another year... Please please please help!!!

Thank you so much!!!
