This peripheral shimmering is called positive dysphotopsia. Actually Dr. Sam Maskett in L.A. is the international expert on this subject. Refractive surgery is usually not the cure unless glasses or contact lens prescription corrects it. The usual cure is moving the lens forward (not possible with CrystalLens) or by implanting a low to no powered "piggy back lens" on top of the CL.
Best wishes,
Tim
Thank you. I have read articles by Sam Masket regarding Negative Dysphotopsia. I am glad to hear that piggyback lenses can also address Positive Dysphotopisia. Are you aware of any surgeons with this expertise in the New York City area?
Plenty in NYC, but I can't endorse any of them. Search for ASCRS members.
