Doesn't sound anything like infectious conjunctivitis. Stay away from visine and other medications that say "get the red out".
Update: went to the doctors, got it checked completely. Turns out to be mild conjunctivitis, and have been prescribed an antibiotic eyedrop for 7 days 4 times daily.
Went to doctor again, the antibiotic was of not much use to the eye, it would relieve redness, and cause a little burining sensation for a couple of seconds ..
Went to another doc, he diagnosed me with having allergies and told me that they are acting up. Right now the white part from the nose (center) and to the Iris is red on both eyes. He told me to use visine and change habits while i figure out what am i allergic to.
Everytime I put visine-A (for allergies) in eyes, there is a burning sensation, and my eye is instantly white in 30 seconds. It remains white for 3-4 hours and this decreases if i stress it by staring at laptop alot. Also have a sore throat.
Please advice what to do, am i on the right path, is this allergies. I have not had eye allergies before, but recently we did change houses and moved into this new house (7-8 months ago) . I also recently got a blood test done (1 month ago), and the only thing that came up was that i was low on Vitamin D, rest all was good. Maybe its connected?
I do not want my eyes to get addicted to visine, please suggest any alternative path. Thanks.
Hello Ms. Brown, I went To another doctor today. She checked it and concluded it was not viral or bacterial. She suggested that only other thing it could be is allergies, and there is nothing much I could do about it. Or that it is actual red eyes which can happen anytime, for no reason and takes time to just go away slowly. But she mentioned its weird to have winter allergies. Please suggest what to do.
I do not want to use Visine-Allergies, but it does clear my eye in 30 seconds, and it stays clean for about 5 hours and then more red. Artificial tears do no gain, eye is still red, even though it feels relaxed.
