blurry and wavy vision

I had prolonged exposure to UV light from welding a month ago while learning. i realize when i got home i could not see clearly, i had lots of light and flashes in my vision.. i complained to my eye doctor...after the examination of my eyes , he told me i had done a damage to my eyes and i have got scars in both eyes, but he refuse to tell me the part where the damage was. my eye doctor later injected my left eye, the next day my vision changed, became blurry and wavy.. poles and lines are wavy just like heat wave from the sun..faces are now difficult to figure out from distance only when they get closer i see faces.. can someone tell me what this is before seeing my eye doctor on 23 of this month...please..i am very worried.

Thank you for your response.. the problem here is i reside in Portugal not in the U.S. i only need advice about my symptoms and how i can advice my eye doc. I believe i had retinal burns after the exposure..but the injection i received in my left eye worsen my situation. now my left eye where i received the injection is a bit swollen, my central vision is blurry and wavy, when i look at objects e.g windows or door frames from a distance is not always in their right shape. Faces are difficult to recognise about 2meters far from me.. I am only 32 years of age...can this symptoms be signs of mocular degeneration or am i going blind gradually in my both eyes...it is a month 2weeks i took the injection and no improvement... doctor, please tell me what i should be expecting from my both eyes...i only have 3more days to revist my eye doctor...i need to be enlightened...pleasee!

It is possible that you have had a retinal burn.  Welding usually causes corneal burns, which are very painful, but which improve rapidly.  Since it seems that your vision has worsened, I would call for an urgent appointment before 8/23.  If your doctor is not able to see you on 8/20, I would try to see another ophthalmologist.
