Orbital decompression surgery

I have Graves disease.  My right eye is horrible, big and buldging.  Im having surgery on Oct 8th, not far away date.  Can you tell me how long this surgery takes.  I also have a specialist to remove some of the bone from the right side of my nose.  Im scared.  I know you cant give me a real estimate of time, but approximate time will be great.  Its on outpatient basis.  Im told I will have alot of pain with this for awhile.  They plan to do upper and lower lid reductions after healing some.  Thank you, Florida Diana

I suggest you call the surgeons office.  They can tell you exactly what to expect.  I encourage any other members here to post any experiences they have.  To be very honest, I have never assisted in this surgery and have no experience with the recovery.  I suspect you will have a lot of sinus drainage and bleeding with packs to stop any postoperative bleeding.  You will look very bruised an swollen for at least a few weeks, I suspect.  Probably would be able to go back to work in 1-2 weeks - but don't quote me on that.
