multi focal lens problem

First of all I am 66 female that had CK done in my left eye about 7 yrs ago and it was a very successful procedure.  I haven't had to wear reading glasses since then and I was really tied to them before.  When I had a choice of lens for my right eye cataract removal I choose the multifocal lens because I did not want to go back to glasses.   They also made a small incision and corrected an astigmatism that I had.  Seems like one thing after another has made me really aware of that eye.  In June I had the Yak lazer  done to try to get rid of the cloudiness in the eye and they say that was successful but I still have a "like looking through a dirty window" field of vision.  Today I had an appointment with my Optometrist (Live in Alaska and no Physician for eyes on this island)  He said my vision was really good and everything in the eye looked good but then where does this irritating field of vision come from?  I can't find much on the web about it other than trying to sell me on the lens. I am free from glasses as long as I am in really good light and I don't need driving glasses any longer which is wonderful.  I can put up with the halos in the night lights.  My left eye the surgeon that I went to in Ohio said that I could have  done anytime and he recommended a mono lens which would be fine with me.  But if I had that done I wouldn't want another bad field of vision.   I read in one of the post on this forum that some have experienced something similar to me.. Can You help me know what to do?  PS  I also have early glaucoma that I take Lumigan for.   I have never had high pressures but apparently I have large jagged optic nerves.  Thanks for listening,  Janet

The glaucoma likely has nothing to do with this.  I suspect you had a Restor implant and I have listened to dozens of people on this site with very similar complaints of halos at night and waxy vision.  I have also personally seen several patients myself, in the office, who had Restor implants put in elsewhere.  They also complained quite a bit of terrible halos and night and a loss of clarity as if wearing smudged glasses.  Unfortunately there is not really anything I can offer you to make things better.  A lens exchange surgery could be considered but would be difficult after having a yag laser procedure.  You can use search feature on this site and use Restor as key word to hear from other patients.

Thanks so much for your comments.  I just wish I had known even some of these things before I went in to have it done.  I called my surgeon's office and asked and they said it was a Restor lens.  We live on a island and town in Alaska and have no eye MD's and so when I had this done I traveled to Ohio to where my family is as I could stay there without having to stay in hotel.  I am just thankful I don't have as severe symptoms as some on this forum have.  The left eye has to be done and that is the one I had CK on.  The doctor said he wanted to put a standard mono lens in that eye.  I have been hesitating about having that eye done because of the eye with the multifocal lens.  Is it normal to put a standard lens in the opposite eye of the multifocal?   Will my vision start working together better?  I have vision that fluctuates but if I am in really good light it is good vision, just irritating and my eyes get very tired and red.  That surgeon should really warn his patients about that Yag laser and consequences of having that done.  Thanks so much for telling me that because at least now I can work on learning to live with what I have.
