Dilated pupil still 5 weeks following after cataract surgery

My husband  over 5 weeks ago now had cataract surgery,  he had implanted in his left eye a multifocal  Intra ocular Lens implant lens, 1 weeks after surgery  his eye pressure was up in his left eye, so he was immediately was put on another eye drop, a eye pressure lowering medication drop, was also using the other 3 drops per day for over 4 weeks along with this , his eye pressure went straight back to normal after the eye pressure drops were started, and since being off the eye pressure drops his eye pressure is totally normal, however his pupil is still dilated, the surgeon isn't sure why??, as the eye is totally normal otherwise, vision good, 6yrs ago my husband had a distance lens  ( what was available back then) put in when he had his right eye operated on for his cataract, with no problems, this time just the eye pupil in his left eye is still dilated over 5 weeks still post surgery, the surgeon has prescribed eye drops , steroid drops, to use for a couple of weeks and will see him again, what would cause the pupil to be so big still so many weeks later, will it return to normal.

If one of the drops prescribed after the surgery was atropine, this would dilate the pupil and keep it dilated for 7-10 days after the drop is discontinued.  It would be unusual to use atropine after cataract surgery, but it is worth asking the surgeon.  Also, if the elevation in intraocular pressure was significant, it is possible that that spike in eye pressure may have damaged some of the iris, and caused the dilated pupil.  If not, then the pupil will most likely return to normal in time.
