why can't I see clearly with my left eye

I started loosing vision in my left eye when I was about nine years old. I wear glasses because I'm nearsighted and I can't see clearly with my left eye because there is a blurr in the center of my vision.  What is this condition called? Is ther a cure for this disease?

I wish I could answer your question, but unfortunately you just haven't provided much information to help me, help you.  Please see an ophthalmologist in person, you clearly need a careful evaluation since you may have a serious eye problem.

Thank you for your comment about Coats disease.  When I was in elementary school the school nurse checked my eyesight and reffered me to an ophthalmologist, but all he prescribed were glasses.  When I was nineteen another opthalmologist said that I must have lost vision in my  left eye due to toxoplosmosis. To tell you the truth I don't know if the ophthalmologists will ever give me an accurate diagnosis. I dread going to renew my license because I can't pass the eye exam with my left eye, and the employees look at me like  I'm a freak.  Let me know if you have another comment that might help me.

A friend of mine lost most of his vision in one eye when he was a child.  His was caused by Coats' disease.  Didn't your parents take you to an ophthalmologist when you were young to find out what was going on?  I'm sure there are many other possible causes besides Coats' disease, but you can read about it at this site:
