Starting my second round of clomid

My husband and I have been trying to concieve for 7 years.  We do have a 7yr old son together.  Two years ago, we did concieve.  Unfortunatly, it was an etopic pregnancy, not found until 9 1/2 weeks when my tube had ruptured.  I have been through 2 surgeries to correct the damage that had been done.  The OB I had been seeing suggested my etopic pregnancy was most likely caused because of a botched c-section. I was diagnosed with PCOS in 1999.  I menstrate VERY irregularly.  I do not normally menstrate more than 3X a year.  I did a progesterone challenge in late Jan., to help rule out premature ovarian faliure.  The challenge worked! I had a lap done in early May to remove a cyst, some adhesions, and to check patency in my remaining tube.  Everything turned out wonderfully! Last month, I took 100mg of clomid on days 5-9.  We had intercourse days 11-16, as directed...very romantic. I went in for my progesterone check on CD20 and it was 6.9.  The OB said he was very pleased with that.  I am on CD33.  I have taken 3 home pregnancy tests, all negative, much to my dismay.  I have not gotten my period.  My OB informed me to make an arbitrary day 5 again this month and start 100mg of clomid again.  Is it common not to get a period when on clomid?  Is it something I should worry about?  What is the likelihood of the clomid not working?  Should my progesterone be higher?  Lastly, is it truly adviseable to take tussin to help with fertility?  Thank you so much.

Aisha Hi.
My doctor put me on 200 mg of clomit for 5 days and 5 days of injectables Gonal F.He was monitoring me all the time to see the progress. I had 5 follicles and ready, so at the end he does the HCG injec. to trick ovulation. Like a said i got pregnant the first cycle but unfortunately i miscarried at 7 weeks. The embryo was not growing properly until i had a normal miscarriage at home. Very painfull. The side effect for any treatment are cyst which happened to me but it was moderate, also hyperstimulation which also was not bad. Even though i miscarried i'm gonna try again, but this pain i'm never gonna forget.

Never seen the literature to backup Tussin pearls. No you don't always ovulate with clomid, your progesterone may be elevated highly suggesting you ovulated but you may have a repeat cyst.
I would do a sono, no cyst, uterine lining thick, Bhcg negative do a progesterone withdrawl, get a period and baseline sono on cycle day 3, if thin lining, start clomid 150.
Questions, one tube, adhesions, 2 surgeries, no way to know what caused the ectopic but probably affected both tubes, 30% repeat ectopic, Are you thinking IVF?
Hope this helps,
JM

Hi. I have a problem with ovulation, so i started taking clomit for many cycles and not working. Not even 50mg not even 100. Then i went to fertility specialist whoalso put me on injectibles since the clomit was not strong for me. Got pregnant on the first cycle. So don't worry if this cycle of clomit is not gonna work, since for me it didn't for many cycles. If not try to take other options. Good luck
