Hi!
Congratulations!
Sharp shooting pains in the pelvic area are very common in early pregnancy. There are many potential reasons--stretching of the uterus, the corpus luteum cyst ( a good cyst) on the ovary, gas pains, etc. What you need to watch out for is any severe pain, or cramping especially if combined with bleeding. It is always a good idea to run any worriesome symptoms past your doctor or his/her nurse.
I wish you all the best!

ok my girlfriend had IUI without fertility drugs on the 29 and 30th of march... has anyone had a successfull treatment without fertility drugs.... We didn't wasnt to use them for obvious reason's we are gay and not having fertility issues that we know of.?
coylee---CONGRATS ! Isnt it awesome! I took 4 tests before i went for blood work because i just couldnt believe it...was a long long long road of negatives&alot of injections and 6th IUI.
It just seems surreal to me. I did ask my RE if the sharp pains are normal and she said it is.
So that put me at ease...am praying your numbers go up. What was your number?
I go again on the 6th also...same date. She said my number was where they want it to be and said it needs to go up x4 by tuesday so a little worried that it wont or something will go wrong. I will pray your number gets higher and higher also !
mdbaby---I have never done IUI without fertility drugs, but if you dont have any problem ovulating on your own then fertility injections or clomid pills arent necessary...i do know that the more IUI's u have the better your chances get. Im not sure why, but that is what RE said. The IUI gives you a better chance since they place the sperm directly into your uterus. This month was my 5th and 6th one...they had never done two of them back to back...i had one on monday march15th then another one on march 16th. Found out i was pregnant yesterday:) So this stuff DOES work, So hang in there and be patient.
Also..i would say you should try to take 2000mg of vitamin C daily and one regular vitamin E daily..vitamin c helps with cervical mucus and e helps the sperm along. That and acupuncture is the only thing i did different this month out of the other 4 IUI's. So that must of done the trick :)
Best of luck you and your partner...keep me posted !
thank you and I will def. keep you all posted... the wait is killing me lol
