On Dec. 21st, the childrens hospital diagnosed my 4 yr old daughter with left lower pneumonia. On the 23rd she had a x-ray to make sure. She went through a antibiotic shot(starts with a r, like Rotussin or something), and a oral antibiotic(zithromax) and was better for about 1week and a half. I noticed the other day her cough, (this is the only symptom shes had), had came back a little worse then it was before. So we go to the dr and have another x-ray and shows pneumonia in the same spot, same size and everything. The dr said that she might need surgery because of the recurring pneumonia due to reflux, but shes never had any problems before with this, or could be a lung desease or something, Im taking her to see a pulmonoligist specialist but Im just curious if anyone has heard of any of this before, or should I get a 2nd opinion? Dr. said that if its due to reflux she might have to have surgery to fix the problem and I'm just really scared for my baby girl. She's always been very healthy until this pneumonia. If anyone can help me to understand this more; I'd really appreciate it??? Thank you in advance for reading my post and I hope to hear from someone soon!
