Eye power increasing !

My age is 21 and my eye power has increased from -0.75 to -6 now from past 8 years.
I'm very tensed now.
Should I start using contact lenses or should I perform a lasik surgery.
Please advice,
Thank you.

This is quiet normal and Refractive surgery is highly recommended, your age as well as your degree of myopia is ideal, certain exams are mandatory before surgery; Corneal topography and corneal thickness map to select the best technique for you.

There are eye exercises available on the internet that may help you reach perfect eyesight.  Although it takes several years to achieve optical perfection, it is much cheaper than getting lasik eye surgery.  I have heard of quite a few disasters concerning lasik eye surgery, so I would be VERY careful with the doctor you choose.  And some people with only near-sightedness become far-sighted after surgery and vice versa, so although one aspect of your vision is corrected, another aspect may be altered.

I wear contact lenses.  They're ok.  They cannot be worn in very dusty or windy areas because particles can get trapped under the lenses and cause abrasions on the eye.  If you are going to wear contacts, dailies (wear for only one day and then discard) are the safest.

Hope this helps.

You need to see an Ophthalmologist and see what they determine is the best treatment for your condition after you are examined.  It is impossible on the net without testing to determine what is causing it to say what would be the best treatment for your particular problem.  I Hope This Helps.
