Is this an infection??

My period ended this past Saturday. Since then I've this brown/purple secretion coming down. I also have a bit of a burning sensation, and it smells bad.

Usually after my period i'll have that real brown end of the period thing come down. But nothing like this. Is this a yeast infection?

Hello,

It's best you see a physician to examine you.  It sounds like old blood, but you could have a yeast infection, bacterial vaginosis, or an STD, such as Trichomonas.  The best thing to do is be examined by your ob/gyn.

Best of luck,

Dr. Downing

I couldn't figure out how to post under a different topic that is why my question is under this one.... Last month I was diagnosed with an ovarian cyst, for the past 2 days I have been having abdominal pain, my doctor prescribed me motrin but the motrin is not dulling the pain, I have been researching it on the internet and it looks like there is a bunch of serious stuff it could possibly be. I am unsure of which one I might have... It hurts me to stand up after I have been sitting in a chair, when I lean to get up thats when I really feel the pain... If anyone has any knowledge or info it would be much appreciated if you would share... thanks

Questions about infection.
I had unprotected sex with someone in March. Later I started having symptoms - itching, burning, pain in my vagina & vulvar areas, swollen glands in my groin. But no discharge, just a reddened, irritated appearance in the vaginal area. I got swab tested for herpes, gonorrhea, chlamydia, trich, BV & blood tested for syphyllis & HIV in June. All were negative. At the time the Dr prescribed Valtrex, since my symptoms were so bad & I was pretty convinced it was herpes so I begged for it while I awaited the swab test results.
I continued to have symptoms so got blood tested for herpes (herpeselect) in July - 17 weeks after exposure. I came up negative for both type 1 & 2.
Went back to the doctor & he diagnosed a resistant yeast infection & prescribed diflucan (once) & nystatin cream for 10 days. The symptoms did go away after about a week.
Then I had sex for the first time since March (with a condom) (not with the guy from March) & they were back the next day. Itching, burning & swollen lymph nodes in my groin for the last 3 days..
My questions are:
1) Is 17 weeks long enough for my body to produce antibodies for HSV? How likely would a false negative for both the swab & blood test be?
2) Would having taken Valtrex within 3 days of getting the blood test have any effect on the results? Would taking lysine at the time of the blood test have any effect?
3) What else could this be?
