Medication response: it is your health care. If you want to start now than state it to your doctor. You VL and CD4 are in reality, great #s however. After the first set my dr. Wanted to wait. I said no. So the choice is yours.
It is NOT a CDC guideline, I am. US resident and I work in HIV clinical environment as a peer educator, however there is a lot of discussion concerning TASP Treatment as Prevention and Test and Treat, it is dependent on the medical facility and the provider.
Condom breaks are just as high a risk as sex without a condom. Alz03- you have the option to say you would like to start HAART (Highly active antiretroviral therapy) immediately, it is your health, take care of it.
I agree with James. What is the real scenario? Sorry about the diagnosis
Also, CDC guidelines now are to begin treatment once you are diagnosed. At least that is how it is in America. I am not sure where you are from. I will not say you need a "better" doctor, but I would work with him to ask why he believes treatment is not necessary.
I am a little confused, not going to lie. I am certainly not going to question your validity, because I am simply not that person.
However. yesterday you posted mentioning what you believed to be was a condom break, which is a low level risk. And now, in the same day, you say you have already tested positive three times, and have your CD4 and viral load counts?
Can you please bring me up to speed with what the real scenario is? And why, is you had already tested positive, were you posting in the prevention forum concerned about a low risk scenario?
If indeed you are positive, which you may be, I am very sorry to hear about your diagnosis. However. there is no doubt in my mind that you can achieve a full, healthy lifespan with the medicine available today.
30th day DUO test: positve
46th day: ELISA positive
48th day: western blot positve
55th day (today): viral load and CD4+ count!!!! i dont think i'll have to wait for three month timeline.
