Hello,
Thank you very much for your post.
I somehow think this to be highly, highly unlikely.
Symptoms of acute retroviral syndrome would not happen so quickly after the initial infection and the symptoms seem to be related to a simple upper respiratory tract infection any way and nothing else to worry about.
If you are concerned about those unprotected sexual encounters that you had ten years ago, the best you can do is to be tested for HIV. I am sure that you will be negative and this way you would not have the slightest doubt in your mind.
Best wishes,
Dr José
I honestly think that you are overreacting and worrying unnecessarily. After 10 years, you would not necessarily have any problems. You would certainly not have any symptoms of acute sero-conversion, as that would have happened 10 years previously, and in the event of an infection then, you might have develop HIV-related illnesses by now. I think all of this is irrelevant and unlikely. Go and have a test; it will be negative and will give you the peace of mind that you need.
Best wishes,
Dr José
would you expect after 10 years i would be experiencing symptoms doctor?
Well, I still think this to be highly unlikely. However having the test would be a good idea anyway.
best,
Dr José
