Hi there Doctor,
One last question then I'm through with this. (I know you've hear that before) But really, lets forget that my exposure was zero risk. Would you say there is any meaningful difference if I were to get a final ATB test at the 11 week mark (tomorrow), or should I wait for 12 weeks? But I can say I'm not as nervy as before. Thanks. Hope you reply, last question, you have my word as a gentleman.
Thank you for the response. You, al the other docs, and everyone holding a mirror up to my face is finally starting to have a positive effect. Yup Nervy chappie I am. I'm working on that. If I breeze through this ordeal without taking a 12 weeks test, It'll be an accomplishment given my history of worry and hypochondria. But yeah, I guess what I meant was have you ever seen someone (not with complications) turn positive after 7.5 weeks given in regards to the latest, 4th gen tests. Basically the one that I took (twice). I realize that I need to work on a greater issue mentally. I just need to get to that point where if I get a bump, spot, or rash, I don't think its HIV. I'm confident I'll get there. Once again thanks and wish me luck!!!!
Hello, golly, you're a really nervy chappie, aren't you,
3/9/2010 = irrelevant = absolutely no risk at all of HIV
4/27/2010 = unnecessary test - completely not indicated
5/10/2010 = again - totally over th top test and not of any true use as you did not have an HIV exposure.
To your questions:-
1) You did not have an exposure. Whatever spin you put on this, unless something else happened that you are not sharing with us, you did not have an exposure and your response is way over the top and totally unnecessary. Whatever test you had at this point would be fine because no exposure.
2) I've answered this. If you want to maintain the illusion of risk and anxiety then carry on testing, but there was no risk, there's nothing wrong with you and I'd suggest stopping tormenting yourself.
3) the strict answer to that is yes, but thats because I'm very, very, very old and I've lived through no testing, then 1st generation testing, 2nd generation testing, third generation testing, 3rd generation testing, 4th generation testing, PCR DNA testing and now PCR RNA testing - again repeat, you did not have a risk and you are not positive.
4) your people are spot on
5) no
6) sure, go ahead - although I really have no idea what London has to do with it.
Best wishes, Sean
