Just one more question. You put the risks as 1 to 1200 as a worst case scenario. What would you define as a worst case scenario? That the whole thing would have been unprotected?
Thank you for you time and advice.
The last couple of days have been a little stressful and my head spins with a millions different scenarios.
You think I can relax and not expect the worst?
How about swimming? Is it ok? My main concern is other people in the pool.
Thank you very much.
Sorry about my english. Not my first language.
Good Afternoon!
I think you're assumptions that the higher the price the safer the sex worker is probably correct from the limited data available on that.
I believe the chances of meeting a sex worker in that sort of envirnoment with HIV is still remote - even though obviously she was a sex worker.
Also, the overall chances in the worst case scenario would be of the order of 1 in 1200 or so per episode.
Overall I think it unlikley that you would pick up HIV this way for the reasons given, BUT I would encourage you to get tested for HIV at 28 days post exposure using a combined HIV 1 AND 2 antibody and p24 antigen test and also STD testing.
best wishes, Sean
