Hiv risk from sex toy

Ten weeks ago I have a sexual encounter with a sex worker, we had been speaking for around 2 hours and decided to go back to her place. When we went there she masterbated me while she was doing this she go a vibrator from her draw and tried to use it on my anus. It was not covered and i could be sure it hadn't been used for the previous two hours and possibly longer. It never penetrated me and despite her trying to for a few mins i asked her to stop.

My questions are.

1) If it never penetrated my anus am I still at risk?
2) If the sex toy was only used on me for that period, and had been unused for that period of time could it still be infectious with HIV?
3)Should I be worried and get tested?

Thanks so much for listening.

The only reason I ask is because around three weeks after this, I developed a sore stomach at night, which went away when I had been awake for  a while. Plus I had had a lack of apetite?

But no other symptoms?

Should i Be worried?

I have recieved advice from Teak that I should not worry I guess I'm just after a professional Opinion.

Welcome to our Forum. the information you have received from Teak and Lizzie is absolutely correct. There was no risk for getting HIV from the exposure you describe- no risk whatsoever.  In the human body, when things are optimal for survival of the virus the virus lives only 1-2 hours.  Outside of the body the virus does not divide and dies quickly upon exposure to lower than body temperatures, to drying and to other environmental factors.  There is no way that you could have gotten HIV through the exposure you describe.   HIV is not spread through masturbation or through inanimate objects.  There is no reason to seek testing for HIV related to the exposure you describe.

The symptoms you are having are due to something else.  EWH

These are not symptoms of ARS and yes, if you had ARS you would have additional symptoms.

It is clear that my efforts to address your questions are not helping to reduce your concerns and may even be feeding your anxiety.  Hence rather than continuing to feel your anxiety, this will be my last comment.  You need to move on.  Further questions will be deleted without comment  EWH

Thanks so much for you help much appreciated.

One final question?

If I did has ARS and they presented, with this lack of appetite and occasional sore stomach, I would also have other symptoms associated with them like a Fever or other things is that correct? I have read that these symptoms I was having would have to be caused with other things like high temp and the body responding to a virus and trying to force it out or kill it. Like throwing up diarrhea, and lymp nodes swelling and high temp, is that correct. Thats why these symptoms don't resemble ARS?? Also the weight loss thing in ARS would be from the diarrhea vomiting and night sweats is that correct?

Thank you so much!!

Lack of appetitie is not a typical symptom of HIV.  You need to stop worrying - you are not at risk. EWH

What I was trying to say was.

A lack of appetite when you have an acute HIV infection is because of stomach pain and diarrhea/vomiting rather than being a symptom on its own? Is that correct?

Question is unclear however this is not a sign of HIV.  EWH

Just a last question and thanks again for all the help and quick response.

1) Lack of appetite would be more related to being unable to eat due to stomach complaints and diarrhea rather than just not feeling like eating much in the mornings?

Thanks again

The GI symptoms asscoiated with the ARS are diarrhea, not constipation.  In addition, a variety of other symptoms would typically be present as well (I will not go into them here).

I thought as much,

Was just worried that I had never had the unusual digestive symptoms that I was feeling, The lack of appetite in the morning followed by the dull stomach pains did worry me as I had never felt them before. Just as an aside the acute Hiv symptoms as with digestive symptoms usually effect the digestive tract with cramps and dihorea rather than constipation? And there would usually be more symptoms like a virus in the stomach to accompany these, like fever and vomiting or the like. Am I correct? The lack of appetite is more likely to be over the whole day and for a few days rather than just a couple and in the morning?

Thanks for the advice it is greatly appreciated and you do a great job.

If you could help with the above questions that would be great it was my main concern.
