Scratches from barber clipper

Dear Dr Hunter Handsfield, MD

I am  sorry for my question, but it will really helpful to me if you give your precious time to comment on this question which followed by incident I described under. This will be last question regarding HIV.

I went to barber shop for hair cut; I always go in this barber shop. When I went there she was doing hair cut on young school boy age 10 years approximately (African). She uses Electric Clipper on him to cut his hair from end. Then my turn came she use same electric clipper on my neck (I did not see her wash that one after finish with young boy). But when I got home I noticed red line where she use electric clipper on back of my neck, may be some scratches under it, these red scratches completely gone with in two days.

I am sexually inactive from long-time more than six months which were all protected. I did recent HIV test 2 weeks after barber shop which was negative. My doctor said I do not need any test from barber shop incident. But I got fever 37.8 C Maximum for one day and totally gone after 24 hours after 3 weeks for barber shop incident, now after 6 ½ weeks after I have very little sore throat.

1 Do you think I am at risk of catching HIV from barber shop incident?
2 Probability of young Boy have HIV 10 year old (place I live HIV is very low)?
3 Is One day fever after 3 weeks have any connection with symptoms?
4 Are symptoms come after 6 ½ weeks sore throat?
5 Do I enjoy my life with my future life partner as I got negative test result (on the bases of barber clipper incident regarding HIV)?

I will really very appreciate if you give your time to my threat, and give me your comments on my questions.
Thanks

Welcome to the Forum.  I will answer your questions, repeating the messages that you have already received from your own doctor and from the HIV Prevention Community site.  As we have said many times before, scratches o the sort you describe acquired in a barber shop do not put you at risk for HIV.  there is no reason for concern and no reason for testing.

As for your specific questions:
1 Do you think I am at risk of catching HIV from barber shop incident?
No

2 Probability of young Boy have HIV 10 year old (place I live HIV is very low)?
Very, very low-close to zero.

3 Is One day fever after 3 weeks have any connection with symptoms?
No, a single day of fever, particularly a low grade fever such as yours is not a sign of recent HIV infection.

4 Are symptoms come after 6 ½ weeks sore throat?
I do not understand your question. The ARS typically occurs from 2-6 weeks after an exposure and can include a sore throat.

5 Do I enjoy my life with my future life partner as I got negative test result (on the bases of barber clipper incident regarding HIV)?
You did not need testing at all. There is no need for further testing. There is no reason related to the events you describe not to enjoy your future.

Take care. EWH
