I'm free or not?Very scared.

Hello Doctor, first sorry for my English, it is possible 8 anti hiv testing of fourth generation (137dias, 205dias, 256dias, 286dias, 301dias, 320dias, 383dias, 424dias) made in three different laboratories do not detect the infection? Should not produce antibodies, not detect the p24 ag? I also vrdl, HTLV, hep c, hep b, 6 and 1 year all negative. Did immunoglobulin igg 1230 (600-1500), immunoglobulin igm 74 (50-350). 1.1 CD4/CD8, CD4 812(10 months), 1.3 CD4/CD8, CD4 788(14 months). My symptoms are persistent and follow me after the accident - tingling, numbness in the body, gastric reflux, candida penis, much folliculitis, hairy tongue, alopecia aerata. I need more tests? So many modern tests and after a long time can lose the infection? Thanks. S©rgio Ricardo.

Your English is fine.  However, your emotional response to your possible HIV exposure(s) and tier symptoms is not.  Test results always overrule symptoms and exposure history.  Your symptoms do not sound like HIV,which does not cause any of the things you describe.  But even if they were typical, you have been over-tested with tests that are 100% reliable when done more than 4 weeks after the last exposure.  The results PROVE you do not have HIV and should not have any more tests for it.

No other STD causes symptoms like yours either -- and those tests also are 100% reliable.

You need to find a doctor or clinic you trust, then follow their advice about the cause of your symptoms.  My guess is that they are mostly just the physical manifestations of your abnormal and highly stressed emotional state, i.e. they are due to anxiety, depression, or similar disorder.  But whatever the cause, it is not HIV or any STD.

I hope this helps.  Best wishes--  HHH, MD

Having a child may increase your fears, but it does not change the science.  You do not have HIV and do not need a PCR test.  Do not ask more questions about it.  There is nothing you can say that would change my opinion and advice.  If your fears continue, you should seek professional mental health care.

You answered me up, and I agree with you that this accident very moved with my emotions. Doctor, I have a young child who depends on me, while I can not stand more repeat tests. I can even discard the hiv? I forgot to mention that I did not use pep, I respected the window, and also had some localized pain, which changed in place. The examinations were performed in three different laboratories, and as I said in another question all of the fourth generation and the last 14 months window.I need to do a pcr? Thank You (Sergio Ricardo)
