Welcome to the forum. Congratulations for your smart decision to use a condom. Good move. But even if you had not, the chance you would have caught HIV from an event like this is very, very low.
Your various capitalized statements suggest you are MUCH TOO CONCERNED about aspects of this exposure that DON'T MATTER AT ALL!
I don't know what you paid for these sexual services, but my guess is that the cost of a condom ($.50 to 1.00) didn't figure in to your lady's profit and loss calculations.
The important thing here is that you used a condom, even when not necessary (oral sex). And if a condom doesn't break wide open, protection in complete. On top of which, the vast majority of female sex workers don't have HIV anyway.
This exposure is such low risk that you shouldn't be at all worried. You don't even need HIV testing.
Best wishes-- HHH, MD
Doctor trust me i hate myself after this.. What a shame! :-(.. I wont ever repeat this again in my life.. I am a young guy with so much responsibility and i am very worried of what i did.. Anywats doctor thank you so much for the help..IT HAPPENED IN AUSTRALIA DARWIN .. Is cheap quality condoms are less effective? Do you recommend me a single test after some times to put my mind at ease doc? M really very very very VERY WORRIED! :-(
One more thing to add ''IS ONE CONDOM EFFECTIVE? OR TWO CONDOMS ARE BETTER TO PREVENT HIV''? Thank you so much doctor
One condom is better. Using two increases the risk of breakage.
Heterosexually transmitted HIV is very rare in Australia; and as I already said, even if your partner had HIV, you had a zero risk exposure. You're overreacting emotionally to a sexual decision you regret, but don't confuse that fact with disease transmission risk. They are not the same.
Australia's federally funded sexual heath centres are, collectively, the world's best network of STD/HIV prevention clinics. If you remain concerned, visit the Darwin SHC for world class expertise, with sensitivity to your lifestyle and emotional concerns. But there's nothing more this forum can do for you.
Thank you so much just last thing do you recommend TESTING if Yes , WHICH TEST AND WHATS THE TIME PERIOD?
You put my mind at real ease doctor .. MANY MANY THANKS FOR THE GREAT SERVICE YOU ARE DOING.. THANKS FOR EVERYTHING..
Thanks for your kind words about the forum. But please stop the online shouting (all caps). My own use of them above was intended as sarcasm because yours weren't necessary!
Based on this exposure, you don't need testing at all. Your risk was too low. However, if you want to do it anyway for reassurance, my understanding is that routine testing in Australia is with a duo, or "4th generation" HIV blood test, which is valid any time 4 weeks or more after the last exposure. In any case, I still recommend a visit to your nearest SHC, then follow their professional advice.
I will keep you updated after acquiring my 4th week Duo test result doctor.. And after reading much on the internet i have found out that Condom Failure Or BreakDown can be easily noticeable by you , is it true doctor? THANKS SO MUCH.
And very sorry to bother again doctor .. Is HIV VIRUS is deep inside the vagina? THANKS once again doc.. I will keep you updated.
Yes, you would notice a condom failure. There is no easy answer about HIV being "deep inside the vagina" -- in some ways yes, in other ways no. But it is irrelevant to your situation anyway. The important thing is that exposures like yours carry little or no risk.
If you want to report your test results, feel free. But no other comments on this thread, please.
Sorry doctor but i just need to tell you that my medhelp profile stats that i am a female but I AM A MALE.
Going to test on this monday doc , its been 2 weeks now and i am worried and stressed like hell :(
1- ) HOW ACCURATE WILL BE A DUO TEST AT 2 WEEKS from exposure?
Thank you so so so much doctor , GOD BLESS YOU :)
I knew your gender.
A negative duo test at 2 weeks will be around 80% reliable.
I will repeat my advice that you visit your local SHC and stop screwing around with independent decisions about testing. If you do that, or if you have HIV testing at a definitive time -- 4 weeks or later -- you may return with a comment to tell me about it. But please no more comments until then.
Respected Doctor ,

Congratulations on the negative results and on starting HBV immunization. Be sure you follow-up with the remaining vaccine doses.
No medicines, including vaccines, have any effect on HIV test reliability. Your negative HIV result is conclusive.
