On March the 3rd, I had un-protected ( not the entire time but rubbing brief 40 sec intercourse ) vaginal/oral with a partner. Ridiculously irresponsible. The sex was dry and awkward the entire time. For 90% of it I had a condom on. I felt a tiny burning sensation afterwards and for a few days after when I had to urinate.

I went to the doctor  6 days later and submitted a urine sample to test for chlamydia and gonorrhea. Nothing...In th clear. That same day I started to notice the corners of my mouth changing color to brown ( I'm african-american ). With miniature bumps in the corners. I don't ever recall ever having anything like this before. SO it freaked me out.

On Tuesday of this week, I had to go out of town for a few days to phoenix. I was definitely stressing out at this point. And I have an anxiety issue. Every day I was searching for answers to my symptoms. By the way, I should point out that the bumps or corners of my mouth is painless.

So I'm in phoenix. All 3 nights I woke up in a sweat. I was able to sleep afterwards. but after it happened the first night, It freaked me out more. On the last night, I started to feel dry mouth. I also noticed red bumps in he back of my tongue. The flight back home from phoenix, the dry mouth was intense...I had to drink water or else.

When I got back to town, I went to the doctor ( this was yesterday the 16th of march ). I told her everything. She said the bumps were circumvalate papillae. She thought I was overreacting but offered to do a blood test. So I did. Of course, I think it's HIV. I've only had a few symptoms, but I've been stressing this out.

No.

It is time for this thread to end.  My sense that my willingness to address your continuuing questions is just fueling your anxiety, not helping it.  EWH

Well I just went to the doctor to get a detailed description of everything for my records. He said come back in a month to make sure. He said my white cell count was low and I should follow up just to make sure. Does that change anything to your response?

My suggestions are similar to those I've already made.  Your exposure was quite low risk an not something to worry about.  Now you have tested 13 days after the exposure, at a time when about 50% of persons with recently acquired HIV would have positve tests and guess what- the test is negative.  Then you spoke with her partner and she was teste-d negative test again.  Now the evidence is quite compelling, you were not at risk for HIV at the time of your exposure.  Thus my advice is the same as I have given you in my prior responses but strong- you have no reason to worry about this exposure.  You do not need further testing.

I hope this comment will help you to move on.  My sense is that you have spent entirely too much time an energy worrying about the exposure you described.  EWH

So I received my test results back as negative. My partner said her results came back negative as well. She said the last time she was sexually active ( unprotected ) was December. I'm not sure wether I believe her or not, as I don't know here very well. More strange symptoms/events have occurred since then. I got this itching happening over my body for the last few days. It seem to happen when clothes would press up against my body and stop when I had few on or sleeping. I still have the dry mouth/whit tongue thing. No sore throat. It almost feels like a part of my tongue in the middle is busted open. Or I'm starting to taste " fully " again if that makes sense.

My first test was after 13 days, because I started feeling the symptoms I described previously within that period. When should/should I do another HIV test?

I took another blood test to check for thyroid/diabetes/cholesterol, etc. I was told my cholesterol was a bit high on both good and bad. They also said my sugar was high, but it didn't necessarily suggest diabetes ( type 2 ). All of this is weird to me as I am 5' 10 177 pound guy who does the gym thing 5 days a week. I also have a diet or consistent lean protein/veggies/complex carbs.

Anyhow, the dry mouth/tongue thing worries me to death. HIV still a possibility you think? Suggestions for more questions/tests I should try with my doctor?

Thanks,
Jevin

And I've had a little bit of a weight loss. While in Phoenix, I wasn't eating my normal meals per day. That was from last tuesday til this past friday. I was 184 on my first check up. 181 on my second checkup ( coming back from phoenix ). I now weigh 180 on the dot. I did the scale today after my 2nd meal of the day t determine 180/179 ish. I think thats about it. I'll admit, I'm a bit of a hypochondriac. I know there is nothing I can do at this point but wait until wednesday for the results. But I'm looking for anything to restore my faith in myself. I'm having a hard time with that.

I use the term "leaving anything out" as a figure of speech.  The additonal information you have provided does not raise any concerns about HIV.  Try not to worry.  EWH

Am I leaving anything out? Well she was rubbing her vagina against me ( without a condom ). And I know ( at least I think ) I've had a cold sore since I was a kid. My mom is a type 2 diabetic. My dad has had a thyroid issue before. I'm really healthy in terms of food choices, exercise ( 5x's a week ). Hope that helps

the following morning, my sore throat went away, I had a bit more ( not a lot ) saliva flowing, and I was able to sleep without waking up in a sweat. My lips are still sticky, and mouth is still dry. But I feel a bit better.

Does anything above sound like possible HIV to you? Or stress  related symptoms. It hasn't even been a full two weeks since the night of sex. But I'm freaking out. I should also point out, that I'm pretty healthy. I take a multi. I normally eat 5-6 times a day. Yada, yada, yada. Help Please!

Welcome to the Forum.  There is little about this encounter or in the symptoms that you describe to suggest that this is HIV.  First, unless there is something that you forgot to mention like that your partner is an IV drug user, the chance that she has HIV is very low and even if she had infection, had your exposure been totally unprotected, your risk for infection would have been less than 1 infection per 1000 exposures.  You used a condom most of the time so your risk is lower still.  thus logically there is little to worry about.

As for your symptoms, symptoms such as dry mouth or night sweats are not suggestive of HIV either.  Finally, when persons do develop symptoms of early HIV, the symptoms typically begin between 2 an 6 weeks following exposure, not sooner as was your experience.

In summary, your risk for HIV following this exposure was quite low an not something to worry about.  Your symptoms are most likely a coincidence rather than something that you acquired from the encounter you describe.

I would not worry.  EWH
