100% Closure, I hope

On Monday December 13th I had a protected vaginal sex encounter and an unprotected oral sex encounter with a sex worker.  She is white, but possibly an IV drug user.

This past saturday, at 82 days post exposure (2 days shy of 12 full weeks) I had a blood draw at my doctor's office for HIV, Syphyllis, and Hepatitis A, B, and C.

All tests came back yesterday negative.

As soon as I got home, I had unprotected sex with my wife, as we are trying to have a child.

so I have a few final questions before I put this all to rest, once and for all.

1.  Did I have a risk to begin with?  did I need testing?
2.  Was my test reliable?  Is there a chance I could be positive and could have infected my wife yesterday?
3.  I did not test for gonnorea, chalydia, and herpes...should I have?  I had no symptoms, no lesions, no leakage, no burning of any kind.
4.  Do you recommend another test for me at any point in the future?
5.  Is it ok now for me to write off any illness or sickness either I or my wife has to just a cold or flu, and not some sort of ARS symptom? (which Is what Ive been doing for the last 3 months, it's been ripping me apart).

Thanks Doctor.

I forgot to mention...about 2 weeks ago I visited a massage parlor where I received a hand job to completion with oil from a polish girl.  She seemed in normal health and could barely speak english.  There was no other contact at all.

Was that any risk for any STD?  Any of them at all?

Could oil be somehow infected?  Just want to cover my bases, thanks.

I typically do not answer redundant questions.  There is no reason for fear or concern related to the exposure you asked about-. Please, no further repeat questions.  EWH

So I am 100% in the clear?  No chance of any seroconversion at this point?  Free to have a child with my wife without any fears or worries???  I can breath again?

Welcome to our Forum.  I'll go straight to your questions:

1.  There was virtually no risk from the exposure you describe.  Certainly no risk for HIV and minimal risk for several other STDs from unprotected oral sex.  The passage of time and your tests however prove that you did not become infected.
2.  Yes, absolutely believe your tests.  Your risk was low to start with and the test results provide convincing evidence that you did not get an STD of any sort.
3.  No, I would not recommend testing for these problems at this time.
4.  No, no further testing is needed unless you have further encounters in the future.
5.  Yes, sorry to hear that your wife has a cold. Her illness however is not ARS caught from you.

Hope these comments are helpful. Time to move forward.  EWH
