I did OralQuick HIV test two more times once at 7 weeks and the second time 8 weeks+1 day. Both were Negative. Now I am very calm. Thanks
When I hear from an expert, I gives me a lot more comfort. You have quiet publications in this regard. Yes doctor, you are right. It is more guilt-driven for me, and I have not touched my partner at all from that time. I hope my 8 weeks test come negative and I pass this stage. Best Regards.
Welcome to the Forum. I'll try to help. I see that you have sought information on your risk of infection from other sources and see that Teak has accurately summarized our past statements about oral sex. I also see that you have been on the internet which is both a source of accurate and inaccurate information. I'm also guessing that the problem driving your concerns is really not a question of the statistical risk of getting HIV from receipt of oral sex but your guilt and anxiety over having had sex with a commercial sex worker, probably in the context of being in an ongoing relationship with another person who trusts that the relationship is monogamous.
Briefly, here are the facts:
1. There are no instances in which HIV has been transmitted through receipt of oral sex, including with "deep throating", gum disease, mouth ulcers or sores- none.
2. HIV is not spread by kissing of any sort, including French kissing in which there is exchange of oral secretions.
3. In the U.S. few commercial sex workers have HIV.
4. Your HIV test following the onset of your flu-like illness rules out the possibility that your symptoms were due to HIV.
5. Flu is epidemic in the U.S. (48 of 50 states according to yesterday's news) and can cause lingering symptoms.
If you feel you must repeat your HIV test to address your internet- and probably guilt-driven anxieties, please do so ONCE. If this does not put your concerns to rest however. My advice is to address your anxiety through a visit to a counselor or mental health professional, not to continue testing. EWH
