STDs tests can be performed during menses. Many doctors believe that testing should not be done at this time but this is incorrect. EWH
Hi Doctor, I have asked my sexy partner female to go for STD screening and she told me her doctor told her she should wait untill after her menstruation, she is also on brith control. does that matter? sorry this is my last question
Read my answer about symptoms. The rash you are experiencing could be due to any number of things but is most unlikely to be due to HIV. For me to try to make a diagnosis over the internet without the chance to examine you would not be appropriate, nor in your best interest. Go see a health care provider and ask them about what your rash might be. EWH
Hi Doctor, how about the rash on my buttocks, lower back and elbow area. they have burning feeling and I had them for weeks now. What could they be?
The exposures you describe are relatively low risk. To be specific:
1. Condom protected sex - no risk worth considering.
2. Analingus - no risk, even if his oral secretions got into your anus.
3. Unprotected sex with a female partner - chances are that she was not HIVV infected. If she was, your risk from unprotected sex is 1 infection per 1000 exposures.
Symptoms - are non specific and are in no meaningful way related to HIV or a good means for detecting HIV. Forget symptoms, they are not due to HIV/
What to do. Get tested. At any time more than six weeks since your last exposure, the results of a standard HIV blood test will give you reliable information. You have little to worry about from what you have written
Hope this helps. EWH
