Dr HHH, last week, I post a question, I was hoping that you answered me. I had sex with a girl and she was on the top of me. I had a latex condom on at all times. Hoewever, when i was about to ejaculate, my penis became soft and the condom came down halh way from my penis. It never slip completely, it only came down half way. After I ejaculated , she remained on top of me for about 30 to 45 seconds., when  she got off, I hold the condom and it was still in my penis except half way . I remove it carefully and i wash my self with shampoo.

Finally, I always shave, which sometimes leave some bumps not in my penis but in  the groin area. I want to know what the risk of getting infected. Can vaginal secretion enter the condom when my penis was soft and also while she was on top of me if her vagina came in contact with my bumps , can i get infected like that. She told me she did not have any std. Please I need your opinion.

I spoke to the lady after all, , she respect me for that.Although , she told me  that last year she had pneumonia due to the flu. That was the reason why i was scared,  i heard that hiv people sometimes have pneumonia. I had used a condom, unfortunately, it came down half way of my penis and also , i shaved  which sometimes leave me with bumps scraches and small  cut , not on my penis, but in my gtroin area.thank you for helping me understand a lot.  I was worried tht the vagina touched my area that I shaved and put me at risks for hiv . I ve never had sex without condom and I always on the top, except this time the girl was on the top.

Being uncircumcised roughly doubles the risk of HIV in men who are exposed, but double a near zero risk is still near zero.  Your circumcision status makes no difference in my opinion or advice.

Condom slippage probably does not increase the risk of HIV.  As long as the head of the penis remains covered, there is no signficant risk of catching the virus.  Anyway, most women don't have HIV; and even if she had it, and even if you had not used a condom at all, the average chance of transmission is around 1 in 2,000.  

Minor irritation, bumps, or cuts from shaving do not significantly increase the risk of HIV infection.

You have no worries about HIV from this event.
