Low Risk Contact / Symptoms

Long story short. Manual contact with dancer nine weeks ago. Sheused her saliva as lubricant and there may have been a very minor amount of genital to genital contact but no actual penetration (I don't think)??  I was pretty drunk.  Symptoms started at the beginning of week 7 with a sore throat and what I would best describe as occasional very minor "sensations" under my right armpit. Right around the beginning of week eight I also noticed what feels like a little bit of tightness and tenderness right above the base of my penis on the left hand side. Nothing swollen that I can see or feel either there or under my armpit so I don't think they're lymph nodes but I'm not sure. Thought the pelvic pain could be STI but I've tested negative (urine) twice now for chlam & gonn. Also did full CBC and urinalysis and everything came back normal. I know my contact was low risk but I'm nit sure what to think about these symptoms that began with the sore throat in week 7. Antibody HIV test at 61 days (8 wks / 5 days) came back negative. Couple of questions: 1) at 61 days can I consider the negative HIV test conclusive?  I should also mention that I noticed a small scrape on my penis the next day. 2) about the tightness in my groin. If the sti tests and the CBC and urinalysis all came back normal is there any chance I could still have ngu or prostatis?  Would the urinalysis have picked these up?  I haven't noticed any burning or discharge. Just the occasional strange feelings. Is it possible this could have anything to do with A drastic reduction in sexual activity over the last eight weeks?  Just curious??  Any insight would be appreciated.
Thanks

Your untinalysis would typical be abnormal if you have prostatitis and yes, prostatitis can be casued by organisms that are not sexually transmitted.   eWH

Thanks for the quick response. One followup question.  Can prostatitis be caused by something other than STIs?  If my urinalysis was normal and I tested negative for chlam and gonn I'm just wondering if it's even possible this could have anything to do with prostatitis?

Yes, the doxy would have cured NGU.  It may have been too short a course of therapy to cure prosatitis if it were present.  eWH

I hope the reassurrance I'm about to provide will help you to move on.  For starters, please remember that it is unlikely that your partner had HIV.  In the unlikely situation that she was, the contact you describe is no risk.  We get many questions related to saliva exposure- it is no risk, even if the salliva came into contact with your urethra.  No one has ever gotten HIV from masturbation despite the fact that it is typical for persons to get each other's genital secretions on one another - you will not be the first.

Your 8 week test proves that you did not get HIV.  If you had, your test would have been positve and this is particularly true if you had symptoms of early infection.  Persons with ARS typically have posiitve antibody tests a week or less following the onset of their symptoms.

To address your specific questions:

1.  Yes, the HIV test at 8 weeks is definitive.
2.  The urinalysis would have picked up prostatitis and probably NGU as well.

Hope these comments help.  EWH

I should also mention that four or five days after the contact in question I self administered a seven day cycle of doxy that I had on hand for cysts that I get from time to time. I took 150mg twice a day for seven days.  Would this have wiped out any ngu or bacterial prostatitis if I would have been exposed?  If so I'm really stumped.
