Dobutamine Stress

I just went in for a stress test with Dobutamine.  My heart rate didn't go up much, but my blood pressure was extream.  I got a extreamly bad headache and they stopped the test and gave me nitro.
I had low blood pressure the rest of the day then it started going back up.  I called the doctor back when it was 210/105.  He told me to double up on my meds and I should be fine in a couple of days.
I have been doubling up.  My bood pressure is closer to nornal but I feel extramly tired.  I have been sleeping 2-3 hours 4 or 5 hours appart.
What happened?  The dobutamine is supposed to be out of you system quickly but could that cause my pressure to back up?
I have notice during times of stress, like getting into a very hot car I will get the same type of splitting headache.  I have always though this was related to my blood pressure.  Is it and I should I be worried about it?

I am 55 woman. I have had a history of High Blood pressure since in my early 30's.  It is reasonably well controlled (I take my meds every day)

Dear semloh1,

Sorry to hear about your headaches. You have a history of high blood pressure and have been experiencing headaches since your stress test.  Your headaches may be triggered by an elevated blood pressure at certain times, but not at all times. The fatigue you describe is likely related to the increased doses of antihypertensive medication you are now taking. I would recommend keeping a log of your blood pressure measurements at home to establish how well your blood pressure is controlled from day to day. I would also recommend an exercise program which may also be helpful in controlling your blood pressure and your fatigue.  You should also follow-up with your doctor and discuss this approach.

Thanks for your question,

I guess I should mention the headache was aleast a 10 on the 1-10 scale. It scared me.  Could this be why my blood pressure is up so high?
