Wow,, Surprised to get in. Well, from the time of my last post I have been recovering from mv surgery and I think doing quite well. My question is, I still am somewhat short of breath and still get heart rates in excess of 125 without exertion, the heart rate changes a lot going from 85 to 125 within minitues. Is this part of the recovery and how long do you think it takes for full recovery from mvp surgery. I can say that I did have the minimal surgery and I can't compare them but this way seams much easier. I was back to driving in 10 days and back to work in 3 weeks. The deep chills really sucked and I think that is the worst part of the whole thing. Hot soaks, 3 pair of pajamas and long underware and still freezing, oh and I hate winter anyway being from Louisiana. I am up to an average of 30 minutes on the threadmill if that helps. It is so nice to not hear that murmur that I have heard for 16 years even though it makes it hard to get to sleep since my sleeping noise is gone.:) I am still very anxious and take xanax for this at .25 3 times a day. Other than that I am only taking comadin which they say will take me off of in 1 week :) and tiazac and they started me with a beta blocker just yesterday and still seeing if this will help... I would like to thank all involved with this board as it is like a pacifier for those awaiting surgery or having problems with heart related items so please come back to allowing more people to post to this board. I feel bad, as I know I will be one of the only ones to post today and maybe the only one. For any of you awaiting surgery,, please feel free to contact me as I was helped by others on this board prior to my surgery,,, So thanks for all that helped with the repair of my Broken Heart!
Oh , is there any danger in that high of a heart rate for long periods of time.. I did have a halter monter placed and it is not afib, which I had 3 times before surgery,,,, Echo after surgery showed a 1.6 cm shrinking of the atrium and left ventrical was about the same.... If you are awaiting surgery ,,,, don't hesitate it is not that bad and is so great after. 99 percent less arrythmias.
