Quite a bit, I have seem as much as two liters. We usually don't take out more than a couple of liters because or the risk for re-expansion pulmonary edema.
In less than two weeks they have removed 3100 cc from my left lung. Is it possible the lung could hold that much, almost 4 liters. My question is, after removal of the first 1600cc did the lung then produce another 1500cc in less than the two weeks? I am hoping not. I don't really want this to go on and on. My cardiologist thinks it could be Dresslers Syndrome. I am otherwise feeling good and resumed most of my volunteering at local hospital, Kiwanis club, discussion leader of a Bible Study etc. I just hope I don't have this hanging over my head every few weeks. Hope 2 thorsantesis (spelling) is enough. Thanks for any further info you may have. I really respect the Cleveland clinic as I have a daughter in Easton, PA with MS and her Dr. moved to and joined the Cleveland clinic. Dr. Rae Grant. Great Doctor according to my daughter.
