Medication Question

I have just a really simple and quick question.  I'm set to graduate from college in a month.  I'm a type of person who gets extremely nervous when having to be in front of other people.  I get tons of skipped heartbeats when I'm this nervous.  I would actually like to enjoy this graduation for myself.  In your opinion, what is something that I could take to help me during this high anxiety period for me?  What type of doctor would I go and see?  Would a Psych. doctor be able to prescribe anything.  Thanks for your input!

'self hypnosis' or biofeedback may be helpful in some people.

A family practice doctor or internist may be willing to prescribe a beta-blocker for this occasion and purpose.  I would not advise tranqlizers because you want to be there and remember your graduation.  There are also many relaxation techniques you can use - many books and clubs (e.g. toastmasters) deal with this common complaint.
