I never call EKGs boarderline. Some of the EKG software systems will EKGs boarderline. I am not aware of any specific criteria for this.
General treatment for SVT depends on what the SVT is. I am afraid I would need more specific information to answer that question.
It is also heard to assess why you are walking up with fast heart rhythm. the most common cause of this is probably anxiety or stress. Rarely svts will present in sleep. The best approach is to wear a monitor and try to capture the initiation and termination the arrhythmia. This will help narrow the differential diagnosis so appropriate tests can be ordered.
I hope this helps.
Are you stressed out, maybe you are going to sleep with alot on your mind, how long has this been happening?
it has been for more than five years.
For 15 years I've also woken up shortly after falling to sleep (always within an hour or so) with a racing heart and fear. I have no idea why and have never been able to totally eliminate them although staying well hydrated seems to help prevent them. My doctor calls them night terrors.
