re testing after 10 years

Hi, I was treated 10 years ago for geno 3, minor liver damage & thankfully leading a happy fullfilling life since. Do I need to have a test to see if the virus is still undectable? If so how often & are there different tests that are more accurate?
Thanks Paul

Thanks for the response. mIt is great to see another gt3er make and sustain it!  So hard for us all.  I do like the annual VL for the 5 years! Pat

I was tested annually for 5 years-I also had genotype 3a and I was then discharged.

I completed successful treatment for geno 3 twelve years ago next week. My new rheumy just retested me again last month (undie of course), even though I've been undetected at least a half dozen times since. Some docs really have a thing about the 'occult' virus.

How long did your Dr follow up with viral load tests after you reached SVR?  I, personally, think that if you were followed for 2 or 3 years after, unless you indulged in risky practices, you are probably.

HOWEVER, I am not a doctor or even in the medical field, so take that with a grain of salt (well, maybe not salt since sodium is not good for your liver : a}).
