When I treated in 08, I had a bunch left over, they, (Dr), told me to flush it, and I gladly did! This time I have it down to the last pill........Sept 4th, 9:00 pm.
You cannot legally give leftovers of a prescription to anyone, Jon,. I had about $1000 worth of procrit left over after my first adventure and asked the doctor what to do. He said nothing, it is illegal. Sad to have to waste it when there are those in need.
By the way, Jon, thanks for the fireworks, I have yet to light one off yet so you are still good. :) Sometimes it just hard to remember the rules when you are on tx.
I was able to donate my extra meds to a local clinic that was glad to get it.
Call around, look for places working for free for the poor.
I told her to flush them?
However, the correct people to call is the Company or Pharmacy that provided you with the Meds, and they will tell you exactly what you can/cannot do with them!
Flushing meds further pollutes our water. Not a good idea.
Thanks for the info everyone. Would have never thought to call clinics or the company that supplied them. I will call around. I hope that I can donate them though.
I gave mine back to my doctor. Didn't want to flush them and have that drug get into the water table or however drugs sow up on water supplies.
