48 weeks - I can't believe I'm almost done!

Wow, thanks to many on this forum it looks like I'm going to complete 48 weeks of INF/RIBA!  I came very close to quitting not that long ago.  In retrospect, I believe depression was getting the best of me.  I thought I'd try increasing my AD's and it helped a lot even though it took a few weeks to feel the effects.
I feel positive about SVR.  I have been undetected since week 12 and 8-week PCR was only 18.  I have been anemic since May and was prescribed Procrit.  Right now I am still very tired and have been battling a scalp rash that is driving me nuts.  I can't seem to keep my damn hands away from it!  I really think it will go away when I complete the ribavirin next week.  My interferon shot is this Friday!
I am looking so forward to new beginnings.  I made a lot of healthy changes in my life since being diagnosed.  I struggled with alcohol and had gained a lot of weight.  It's been 18 months since I had my last drink and during treatment I lost 40 lbs. and learned to appreciate my fruits and veggies.  I still have a ways to go but would like to lead a more active life and continue the process.  Maybe even open myself up to a new relationship?
Thank you all for being here.  I don't think a day goes by when I don't stop by the forum.  I am reminded of the devastating effects of HCV and our hope for recovery.  Like so many have shared before me, treatment is not easy but it is doable.
Love & Light to all who inspire me.
Rebecca

It was great news to hear how close you were to finishing, and now (if I've done my math right) I believe you are actually doing your last ribavirin today. Woo-hoo! Congratulations on making it all the way to the finish line! If you start getting impatient for the side effects to go away, just remember that's also normal. It takes time, especially when you've done the full 48 weeks of tx. Keep on posting whenever it starts to get to you too much. For the scalp rash, if you haven't already gotten some kind of steroid lotion for it you might consider asking for an Rx. They make some steroids lotions that are extremely thin and oil-free so they can be used on the scalp. I use fluocinonide lotion.

Hey Rebecca!! Wow you were smart to up your ADs! It does get the best of us. Treatment isn't easy! The good news is most from here on out will have an easier time. I hope it will encourage people to start treating. We'll just be in the old warriors club. Lol!
Now don't forget, it's going to take time. Even when you get about 3 months out you might start to get impatient. Well I did anyway! But just take it easy, you will feel better.
Good luck on the dating seen!!!
