6 Week Post Treatment Labs

I'm now 10 weeks post treatment and am feeling like myself again. I thought I'd share my 6 week post treatment labs taken 42 days after I finished. End of treatment numbers are in parentheses: Hgb. 13.7 (10.5), WBC 4.2 (1.5), Platelets 138 (67). I knew I was feeling a whole lot better starting in about week 5. So for those of you finishing treatment soon, your labs can bounce back quickly. I'm back in the gym, playing music, and really enjoying life now that I'm feeling better.

Treatment was hard but I feel it changed me in many positive ways. I am much more grateful for things I used to take for granted. I really enjoy just being able to walk around freely without feeling like I am made of lead. In the gym you will not find anyone who enjoys working out more than me because I'm so happy I can do it again. I quit smoking. I'm much more compassionate towards people with health problems and my relationships are getting better. I'm less driven and project-focused so I'm more available to my friends and loved ones. So there are definitely some upsides to treatment besides the obvious health benefits.

I understand the change in outlook one gets as a result of treatment. I too, have more empathy and genuine concern, for people experiencing health problems.
So glad you are feeling stronger. On to SVR!!!

Reid:  Yes, have been off work the past couple weeks.  Geez, there are days that I can't open my eyes!  I am going to try to go back in mid-June because I need to maintain my elaborate lifestyle (ie. laying around).
I am always glad to learn that people feel like new once they recover from treatment.  I have been feeling older than my years for a long time and can't wait to feel what normal is.
Take care!

Kitty--That cartoon I have on my profile/photos summed up my energy levels on treatment: "Things I don't feel like doing today.....Moving" Yeah, a week is kind of short but it won't be long until you start feeling better.

HCVinPDX--I'm not sure if you're working while on treatment, but it looked like you were from your profile. If so, you're my hero. I hope the rest of your treatment goes smoothly and that you clear the virus.

Thanks for the hopeful news.  I am going into my 18th week of riba/INF and have 30 more to go.  Yes, I have a lot of body aches and fatigue.  I'm looking forward to knowing what it feels like to be healthy again!

Oh Reid that's so uplifting to read!!! I'm so happy for you! Not kidding, you have been a great source of support around here! Way back when I read a post from you (didn't know who you were), you were saying you had no energy and you only went out for labs. Lol! I said there's someone just like me!!! Ha! I got very depressed last night, Q said its only been a week and we both started laughing.
Ah! Reid ya did it, what an outcome for you. Nice story!!!
Looking forward to SVR party. Lol!      Kitty
