Anemia

I everyone,
This coming week will be shot 6 (How time flies) and I got my 4 week bloodwork back (except for vl which will be back this week)
My reds and whites are tankin'
I won't post my 2 weeks labs but here are my 4 weekers:
WBC.................4.6
RBC..................3.47
Hemoglobin.......11.0
Hematocrit........32.6
RDW................15.4 (I don't know what this is but it's high now)
ALT..................21
AST.................13
My platlets are up from 154 to 170
Anyhoo...I do have some signs of anemia, pea size lumps on head (About 20 of them) cracks in corners of mouth and sore in mouth.(I'm using Biotene toothpaste and mouthwash and it's really helping)  Doc wants to hold off on any rescue drugs til next labs (8 weeks) unless I can't function.  I want to go to PCP and find out if B-12 injections can help, or something to help.  Do any of you have any experience in taking the B-12 injections and did it help your counts?  I do know counts can tank, stabilize and sometimes rebound a bit.  Any help would be appreciated....Thanks in advance

B12 shots are excellent for people with hep. C. I get one every month that is all my insurance will allow. I'm switching to Blue Cross during open enrollment.

I just looked up RDW and with that being high and the other being low, leads to a B-12 deficiency called pernicious anemia.  (I'm playing doctor here LOL)
