Exercize and brain function

I have always felt that exercise after treatment was the quickest way to get rid of the leftover sx -- mostly memory related -- that seemed to hang on forever after treatment.  Every time I started to exercise, the last of my sx would disappear.

I saw a program on NPT last week that talked about stem cells that reside in our brains all of our life.  It seems that exercise stimulates them to make new neurons.  Now after lots of painful exercise, my memory is only as awful as it was before treatment.

It's great to see you both here.  I am doing well.  My wife and I are doing some traveling around the US and we leave tomorrow for the west coast.  I am looking forward to hiking and just enjoying the Pacific and the redwoods.

It's been quite a ride for all of us and it really makes me happy to see so many people doing well.  That's a far cry from when I first started reading this board when there was very little hope (before RIBA).  I think only 10% were SVR before RIBA and then pegylated and finally Protease Inhibitors.  It's just great to see what 10 years has done for the success rate treating HCV.

All the best to everyone.

Hi Andiamo nice to see you writing in, my brain has recovered too, it took a while.
Really scary that memory loss I experienced first year and a half after treatment.

I feel terrific a bit fat and some osteoarthritic problems in feets and hands otherwise just fine.
Hope your doing good aswell!

Exercise significantly reduces the likelihood of developing cognitive decline, dementia and Alzheimer Disease. That and Vitamin d.
