Glad things are looking up, Rocker.
Gotta love Canada. I always told my husband...if not in FL, that would be the next place I'd like to live.
good for you !! that might be the way for alot of us now {to be retrained} good luck ,study hard . enjoyed those archive pitures of gilmour .my favorite album is ANIMALS . who is the ba**s behind pink floyd gilmour or rodger waters ? there is really no CORRECT answer . just opinions .i was wondering yours bob
Thought you were going over the edge for a few days there.....
Good for you Rocker!!
My hubby recently finished up 4 years of plumbing school for his journeyman license. He is 55. School was not year round. We paid for it. I am sure gonna miss my Tuesday & Wednesday nights peacefulness.
Canada is a pretty good place...but there are better countries...i think Denmark or Sweden is top notch too...Canada will face a massive shortage of skilled workers in the coming years...we need the people....get uour A.SS up here...the govt in Sask,...will even pay college graduates $20,000 just to move to the province and work..i know this sounds crazy....but do a google and you will see...to me they are all equal...if one is missing..like Rick Wright...but as for saying whose the front man..to me they both share the role...its like mick and keith with the stones...its hard to pick just one...but i love Gilmour just as muck at Rogers
Im kinda nervous going back to school too...im afraid of what the TX has done to my brain and memory...from some of the stories i have been reading...but to be honest...i donr seem to have any brain fog...my problem is i worry too much
BTW...if you like my pictures...i will post some more....i just put up some of my own stuff....i shoot some pretty strange photos....so be for-warned....LOL
School has been a good thing for me. I think it may help ward off the brain fog, at least keep it to a minimum.
If anyone is into the millwright trade...whats your opinion on me taking this course...it looks like an oppertunity i cannot afford to miss....as you all know opertunity onlt knows onyour door one time only
Never miss an opportunity to learn something new
Way to go Rocker. Sounds like a great opportunity to reinvent your career. Hope it goes well.

Yay!! I'm happy for you, that sounds great! You had me quite worried there for a while. Hugs bro, Marcia
millwright. Is that like running a CNC Milling machine?
My last job was running CNC brake presses..and yes...millwrights are involved in CNC heavy equipment..with this trade you install new machines...set them up...repair...maintainn them after they are up and running...you even make the parts for them if required...you need to do some welding too...and rigging....which is hooking up heavy machinery and moving it...we also use lazers to level the machines...its one of the only trades that uses a bit of other trade skills...i have my eyes on thie nickel mining company....very big company...40,000 emplyess
About brain fog and school.... I agree with the post above. School and studying seems to keep me focused. I can't make it through the grocery store, but I can nail it in chemistry and microbioloby, lol!
Plus it makes the time pass faster.
My biggest fear was having brain fog while working on my Masters. I'm in a combined program, and even though I'm still undergrad, the fall semester is all 600 level classes. I do have trouble with Accounting but I had that last semester and I wasn't txing then. I just don't like Accounting, and it's hard to retain something that is boring to you.
Maybe i should take a job cleaning widows for high ries buildings...i just love hanging of the empire state building lookk down on a windy day as i sway back and for and watch my bucket drop...good pay...
Congrats on the job training! I think it is a great opportunity. I have always thought if you have a trade you will never go hungry. Skilled workers are becoming more and more scarce.
Regarding Pink Floyd (my all time favorite)..Roger Waters...Gilmore did not come until after Syd Barrett.
My classes are nothing compared to going for a Masters...you're way ahead of me. But, now that I have a few weeks off, I realize that focusing on school kept me off the couch. So even tho I am really tired I think it is a good for me.
(above should have read microbiology, not microbioloby, lol!)
Shucks, I thought you were studying to be a biolobist...I always wanted to know a microbiolobist.
School is the best thing!
jd
This far into tx, it should read microlobotimist. Or at least it feels that way =)
Ive got some rare photos of Syd Barret.....i am not accepted for the schooling yet....ive jusy been setting it all up....but i cant see any reason why not...like i said...they are crying for tradespeople here...the recession will end soon anyway...then look out,...id say by 2012...thats just a couple of more years

As gungho as you sound, from what I've read via your posts, you'll be accepted! Yeah, it's never to late to learn!!
